Kendall’s telophase correction paper published in eLife
Congratulations to Kendall and crew for his exciting new paper describing a novel late-stage spindle orientation mechanism that we call “telophase correction.” If you thought that division axis was fixed by metaphase, you’re wrong! In the epidermis, wayward oblique spindle angles commonly persist into metaphase, but correct toward either perpendicular or planar during telophase. Kendall developed an ex vivo embryonic epidermal explant live-imaging platform to watch this fascinating event occur in real time. Seeing is believing!
